Virginia Montville

Virginia Montville was born in 1950 and grew up on Vine Avenue in Lorain, Ohio. She attended an exclusive girls’ school on the East Side of Cleveland and worked as a law enforcement dispatcher in Oberlin, becoming the first woman on a force of eighty men. In her interview, she discusses her Mexican and Native American heritage, cultural and linguistic diversity in Lorain, and the discrimination she faced as a Latina in law enforcement.
