Photo of Ignacio Carrion after he retired and built his winter home in Puerto Rico along the Loiza River, which runs through his backyard in the town of San Lorenzo where he was born. He said that his dream was always to return to Puerto Rico, and after 30 years working at US Steel, he achieved this dream and retired.

Maria teaching her students about credit in a class at El Centro. In her role as Manager of Housing and Physical Developments, Maria has taught many classes about financial empowerment since they launched in 2018, covering topics such as setting financial goals, how to budget, what credit is and how to improve it and ways to become financially literate.

Maria and her sister Isabel Pallens dressed up for El Centro's Virtual Gala on November 7, 2020 to celebrate the social service agency's 46th anniversary. Isabel is also a board member at El Centro.
